1994 Hermès Scarf Les Quatre Saisons - Robert Dallet

Illuminating yellow is a happy, cheerful colour: a colour full of hope and positivity and the colour for 2021. Les Quatre Saisons (The four seasons) in yellow colourway is my all-time favourite. It was designed by Monsieur Robert Dallet for Hermès in the Fall/Winter season of the 1994/1995 collection.

As described in the Hermès catalogue: "The swallows have come back, the days are getting longer, the countryside is blooming. It's spring! But summer is already here, like a flight of pink flamingos in the skies of the Camargue. Azure glows with purple and gold little by little: autumn has arrived. The squirrel stores his nuts, and the duck flies in from the north alights on the pond. The woodcock slips away into the dusk. Mists float over the meadows, Winter unfolds its cloak of white, and all is at an end – until the cycle begins again".

At its centre, the carré depicts the branches of ripe peaches, apricots, grapes, and olives along with the carré title "Les Quatre Saisons" - Four wreaths marking the four directions of the four seasons cycle. The wreaths are the mirrors that reflect Monsieur Dallet's beautiful soul. I see a wonderful world through his soul.

"I see trees so green, red roses too,

I see them bloom for you and me.

And I think to myself, what a wonderful world."

Spring is the season of new beginnings. The countryside is blooming. Young fawns are starting to make new friends with their mothers on their side. Above the treetop, Swallows are feeding their chicks in the nest.

The following spring is summer. In southern France, the Camargue horses are grazing all around the lake. The Flamingos are wading all across the water. The top predator, the Great Blue Heron, never ceases looking for its potential meal in paradise. Not far away, two squirrels are rolling around on the lush grasses.

Autumn begins quietly when deciduous trees begin to lose their leaves. Ring-necked Pheasants are foraging in trees for fruit, leaves, and buds. Squirrels bury thousands of nuts over a lifetime, but this one seems to have lost count. The Mallards are storing up fat before beginning their migrations journeys. A drake stands alone in front of a bush, jealous of another good-looking drake surrounded by ducks. In the deep wood, birds are singing, except the Grouse is drumming with its wings.

Winter never seems to end when Mr. Fox enjoys its beautiful new surroundings and companions - the winds, the snow, and the cold.

The fox squirrel is idling near its tree den to catch the first smell of spring. One warm afternoon the change is in the air. Winter turns to spring. Another season's cycle just begins...

It's a scarf that's so inspirational! Just as there are seasons in nature, there are seasons in our lives. Nature gives to every time and season unique beauty; from morning to night, so do the seasons of life. Remain hopeful because change is just around the corner. The four seasons come and go, and all creatures thrive and grow. Stay strong and never give up in our lives. Tomorrow is another new day!
