Hermès Scarf Dans un Jardin Anglais was designed by Alice Shirley in 2015. The necklace I created specifically for this scarf. To protect the silk from the wire, I used one piece of 10 meters long wire to weave the necklace base, then attached the gradient bead strands to it. The gradient colours from light to dark with pearls, Swarovski crystals match the change of light and shadow in the scarf. The beads transformed the clusters of trees, plants and rocks into 3D effects.

What finer invitation to wander at leisure, than an English country garden? Designed by Nature herself, recreating the happy accidents of the natural scene, its unimagined alliances and improvised paths… Gardens à l’anglaise first made their appearance in France in the 18th century, ushering in a new sense of freedom – a space where nature and nurture could meet and mingle, threaded with flower-lined paths winding between shrubberies, clusters of trees, plants and rocks, leading to a striking viewpoint, a water feature, a bridge, a ruin, a dead tree… A place for surprises and dreams; a place of unending fascination. Alice Shirley’s design perfectly expresses the bucolic charm of every English garden: a rustic scene peopled with deer and birds. A zig-zag path leads to the top of a flight of mossy steps, and a flowery arch – the gate of Paradise, perhaps! Where better to roam at will, sampling fresh delights, taking time to dream… Alice Shirley’s English garden embodies the true art of the French flâneur.

The luxury French Maison Hermès launched a special edition carré “Into the Canadian Wild” to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary in June 2017. 2021 Faubourg Tropical The first Hermès store opened at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris in 1880, in a building of modest dimensions that also housed saddlery workshops and private apartments. The current neoclassical façade is the result of audacious building work carried out between 1924 and 1926, extending upwards to create additional floors and a surprising roof terrace. It is from this terrace that the exuberant tropical forest designed by the duo of Octave Marsal and Théo de Gueltzl appears to unfurl.
